The Advocacy Academy is a youth-organising movement working to create a fairer society in which young people with lived experience of injustice have the power to make lasting change for themselves and their communities. In March 2022, Mission 44 partnered with The Advocacy Academy to scale the reach and impact of their youth activist programme.

Earlier this month Mission 44 attended The Advocacy Academy’s annual graduation ceremony, celebrating the future changemakers graduating from its Fellowship programme, which aims to equip young leaders with the skills and knowledge to fight for social justice. BFAIR (Brixton Friends Against Immigration Raids), is a campaign started by young campaigners: Semirah, Cara, Iman, Ki’annah, Danielle and Vuk. They are raising awareness of the injustice faced by migrants who are often unfairly detained and pressured out of their homes and workplaces.

Homes not Houses, is a campaign started by young campaigners: Aretha, Katrina, Natasha and Haider. They aim to help raise the standard of Southwark’s social housing provision and are calling for Southwark Council to repair homes quickly and thoroughly to end disrepair and mould.

This is Medsogyny LDN, is a campaign started by young campaigners: Beulah, Cora, Cecilia, Rhianna, Mac, Joyin, Lou, Sukh and Sabah. They are campaigning to raise awareness and implement teacher training courses focused on the intersectionality of neurodiversity in schools.
