Mission 44’s Youth Empowerment Strategy was co-created with our Youth Advisory Board.
By embedding young people within our organisation and allowing their lived experiences to inform our decision making, we model the world we wish to see and open up solutions that work for a new generation.
Through our principles of youth participation, and to support the young people we work alongside, Mission 44 is committed to being:
We create the conditions for young people to exert influence and authority
We acknowledge every individual’s unique ability to contribute to solutions
We invest in our colleagues and our work at a level that matches our ambition
We dedicate time to building trust, understanding and open communication
We ensure all of our communication is accessible and jargon-free
We work fairly and equally, making space for those less heard
We invite young people to express themselves in a way that speaks to them
We always provide feedback to young people on actions resulting from their influence
We invest in the evaluation and learning needed to do this work well
