Mission 44 was proud to be the Official Charity Partner of the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, bringing our mission to one of the world’s most iconic celebrations of motorsport and innovation.
Throughout the 4-day festival, visitors met the Mission 44 team in the Fan Zone, where they learned more about our work to build a fairer, more inclusive future for young people by increasing access to STEM education and careers in motorsport.
As part of the official charity partnership, we also welcomed 100 young people from our partners AFBE-UK, upReach, Stevenage and Driven By Us to experience the Festival of Speed and explore the exciting opportunities that exist across the motorsport industry.
Students took part in the Festival’s STEM Trail, discovering the engineering, technology and innovation that powers motorsport while experiencing the unique atmosphere of one of the sport’s most historic events. By connecting young people with the leaders, technology and careers behind the scenes, the day helped inspire the next generation to see themselves in the future of the industry.
The experience was made possible with the support of volunteers from our corporate partners and supporters IBM and Bloomberg, who helped deliver activities across the festival and ensured students had an unforgettable experience.
Mission 44 also took to the Festival’s stages throughout the weekend to share the stories of young people breaking barriers into motorsport and STEM.
On Thursday, Mission 44 CEO Jason Arthur and IBM UK CEO Leon Butler joined the Future Labs Stage Podcast with Motorsport Scholars Mohamed and Gerren to discuss Mission 44’s work to create more inclusive pathways into education and employment, and why collaboration across sport, education and industry is essential to driving lasting change.
Across the weekend, visitors to the Fan Zone Stage also heard from members of the Mission 44 community. On Friday, Steph Travers joined a conversation exploring the importance of increasing opportunities and sharing her inspiring story in the ‘Women in Motorsport’ feature, while Mission 44 Motorsport Scholarship alumnus Amjad and Youth Advisor alum Safa shared their experiences of creating change in the industry during the ‘Mission 44: Young Voices, Real Impact’ session on Saturday.
On Sunday, fellow Motorsport Scholar Chris also took to the stage to discuss his own journey into motorsport and the impact of the scholarship programme during the ‘Mission 44: From Classroom to F1 Paddock’ feature.
As Official Charity Partner, Goodwood Festival of Speed provided a powerful platform to inspire young people, celebrate diverse talent and showcase the breadth of careers that exist beyond the racetrack.
The partnership formed part of Mission 44’s wider work to break down barriers to opportunity and increase representation across motorsport and STEM industries. Since launching in 2021, we’ve worked alongside schools, charities and industry partners to create more inclusive pathways into great STEM careers, ensuring that talent – not background – determines a young person’s future.
We’d like to thank Goodwood Festival of Speed, our partners, volunteers and everyone who visited the Mission 44 Fan Zone throughout the weekend to learn more about our work and support our mission to drive lasting change.
