Ação Educativa is a non-profit civil association whose mission is to advance education, cultural and youth rights, with a view to promoting democracy, social justice and socio-environmental sustainability in Brazil. Mission 44 will support their education and employment initiatives whilst learning from their approaches to youth engagement and empowerment.

The Advocacy Academy is a youth-organising movement working to create a fairer, more equal, and just society in which young people with lived experience of injustice have the power to make lasting change for themselves and their communities. Mission 44 is partnering with TAA to strengthen its campaign activity and infrastructure, and extend its reach. Together we will empower more young people to become powerful forces for social change.

The Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers provides targeted programmes for young people and employers to increase the number of ethnic minority engineers in the UK. Mission 44 is partnering with AFBE to scale their work and expand the Making Engineering Hot programme to new regions. Together we will increase the number of black and ethnic minority young people considering careers in engineering.

The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders works with girls aged 12–18 in Austin, Texas, all of whom specialise in a STEM-focused curriculum, providing hands-on experience in STEM roles, including engineering. Mission 44 funding will support their STEM education and MakerSpace initiatives.

Aspiring Heads is a social enterprise focused on addressing the underrepresentation of black educators in leadership roles within the UK’s educational sector. By providing leadership development, insights and fostering connections, we seek to create more inclusive environments where all students can benefit from diverse leadership. Mission 44 is partnering with us to support our team’s capacity, and to develop organisational growth.

The Black Curriculum is a social enterprise that seeks to address the lack of Black British history in the national curriculum. Mission 44 is partnering with the enterprise to deliver more consultation audits and teacher training across the UK, enabling schools to teach an empowering form of Black British history. Together we will achieve a better-equipped education sector that has an increased understanding of unconscious bias, anti-racism, and intersectionality.

The Black Equity Organisation promotes economic, legal, social, and political equity for Black communities in Britain. Mission 44 is partnering with the BEO to deliver a research and engagement programme examining the barriers to education for Black young people, and recommending what can be done to break them down. Together we will enable Black communities to contribute to and co-produce a programme that will benefit future generations of learners.

The Black Women in Science (BWiS) Network is a non-profit organisation focused on making connections within the Science sector. The organisation tackles the underrepresentation of Black women in Science through their mission to serve as a space, platform and movement for the community. They provide a supportive space catering to the intersectional experiences of Black women in Science across all career stages. Mission 44 is partnering with BWiS to scale the reach and impact of their work.

Bradford College is one of the biggest education and training providers in the region. Mission 44 is partnering with the college alongside other regional organisations to raise awareness of motorsport STEM careers, encourage employers to increase apprenticeships, and provide financial support to women, ethnic minority and economically disadvantaged students. Together we will support the growth of diverse talent entering the motorsport sector.

Cape Mentors deliver quality tuition and mentoring to improve the life outcomes of excluded children, and those at risk of exclusion. The charity has so far reached 15 schools, eight local authorities and 500 children and young people, and Mission 44 is funding the recruitment of more mentors to increase key services. Together we hope to build the infrastructure needed to further expand their mentoring programme for vulnerable young people.

Founded in 2009, Casa Amarela is a culture, education and arts centre located in Morro da Providência, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In what’s widely considered Brazil’s first favela, Casa Amarela aims to reduce social, economic and racial inequalities and improve outcomes for their community. Mission 44 is working together with the charity to support growth of their programming and outcomes including, digital skills programming and computer lab to support young people’s progression into STEM career pathways.

CEAP is a technical school and non-profit that provides free vocational training for young people from Brazil’s Pedreira region who are experiencing social vulnerability. Their programmes have seen high success rates, with 92% of their students continuing to higher education compared to the national average of 18%. Our support will enable CEAP to continue to improve the quality of their education and efforts to promote diversity in STEM.

Class 13 is an education equity charity that supports teachers and schools to develop practices and policies that actively challenge systemic inequity. We’re working together to expand their operational functions and help their growth as an organisation. 

Code2College works with schools across Austin to specifically support Black and LatinX young women to complete STEM degree programmes, as well as working with the local business community to ensure young women can enter and progress within the STEM industry. Mission 44 will support their Vision 2024 initiative, creating access and pipelines for 200 Black and LatinX young women into STEM careers.

Co-op Academies Trust supports students in primary, secondary, college and special schools across the north of England, giving them the skills and experiences they need to succeed, no matter where they come from. Mission 44 is partnering with Co-op Academies to pilot, test and develop bespoke interventions that reduce fixed and permanent exclusions for Gypsy Roma pupils. Together we will work to reduce exclusions while creating a safe and inclusive educational environment.

We’re partnering with Coram to tackle unfair school exclusions through various initiatives including a legal clinic, where law firms recruit and train volunteers to give more young people access to legal representation. Together we will test and scale interventions that can address the disproportionate rate of school exclusions for those from underserved groups.

The Difference creates specialist senior school leaders with the expertise to meet the learning, wellbeing, and safeguarding needs of all children, and most crucially those with high levels of need and vulnerability. Mission 44 is partnering with The Difference to expand the reach of its Leadership Development programme. Together we will drive continuous improvements that ensure leaders graduate from the programme with the necessary expertise, tools, and networks to enact change.

Driven By Us is a pioneering community-driven organisation on a mission to empower aspiring leaders from ethnic minorities and underrepresented groups in the automotive & motorsport industry. Driven By Us provide mentoring and support in a safe space, facilitated by relatable role models across world-leading organisations with first-hand success stories. Mission 44 is partnering with Driven By us to scale the reach and impact of their work.

The Fair Education Alliance is a coalition aiming to tackle inequality in the education system by dismantling the barriers to a fair education through collective action. Mission 44 is partnering with the charity to increase young people’s voices in shaping the decision-making of their 250-strong organisational membership. Together we will work towards a shared vision of a country where no child’s success is determined by their socioeconomic background.

The Felix Project collects surplus fresh food and delivers it to London charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals for people who need it most. Last year the charity delivered 30 million meals, and with Mission 44, they will deliver even more. Together we will expand the project’s youth volunteering services, empowering young people to take an active role in tackling food poverty, and providing a pathway for future employment.

Gender Action is a school-charter mark scheme that enables educators to take a whole-school approach to gender equity and to support the progression of women and girls in STEM subjects. Mission 44 is partnering with the scheme to support over 100 schools across the UK, and make a difference to thousands of young people through challenging gender stereotypes in all aspects of school life.

Milk Honey Bees CIC is a creative and expressive safe space for Black girls to flourish and put H.E.R (Healing, Empowerment and Resilience) first. Through their H.E.R Space Programme, Milk Honey Bees aim to allow Black girls to express themselves and feel empowered whilst connecting with their dreams, passion, and purpose. Mission 44 is partnering with Milk Honey Bees to deliver therapeutic wellbeing and mentorship support to Black girls who have experienced exclusion or are at the risk of exclusion.

Motorsport UK is the national membership organisation and governing body for four-wheel motorsport, representing competitors, volunteers, clubs, and fans. Mission 44 is partnering with Motorsport UK to deliver Girls on Track, a programme to inspire women and girls to enter careers in motorsport, with a priority on engaging pupils from ethnic minorities and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Together we will create an inclusive community and open doors for young people.

The STEM Success & Progression Fund is a 12 month pilot bursary programme designed to remove financial barriers for young people from underserved communities in Stevenage to participate in and access STEM careers. The funding will also provide the resources needed by secondary schools to give a greater level of support to students to increase their ability to pursue higher education in STEM.

The Oasis charity runs academies in five regions throughout the UK, providing education for over 32,000 young people, 47% of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds, and 31% of whom speak English as an additional language. Mission 44 is partnering with Oasis to support them in developing interventions that reduce the permanent and temporary exclusion rate of Black students. Together we will work to reduce exclusions while creating a safe and inclusive educational environment.

Power The Fight was launched in 2019 in response to the UK’s rapid increase in serious violence affecting young people, and its disproportionate impact on vulnerable and minority communities. Mission 44 is partnering with the charity to support the delivery and development of its Therapeutic Intervention for Peace programme in London secondary schools. Together we will expand the programme to increase teachers’ cultural competency.

Rekindle School is a Manchester-based supplementary school that supports economically disadvantaged children by providing meals and expert tuition. Mission 44 is partnering with the charity to deliver The Rekindle Foundation, a virtual home for teaching, learning, training, youth-led research, and activism. Together we will test and evaluate the methods that make Rekindle schools work, and distil them into methodologies that can be taken to government institutions to be replicated nationwide.

The Royal Academy of Engineering harnesses the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and inclusive economy that works for everyone. Mission 44 is partnering with the Academy to launch a new scholarship fund enabling engineering graduates from Black or mixed Black backgrounds to undertake a master’s degree, and providing support to accelerate their career. Together we hope to see 90% of awardees employed in the engineering sector, with the majority in motorsport or F1.

The Pioneering Young STEM Futures programme is aimed at giving underserved young people equal access to Stevenage’s STEM careers, through a partnership between Stevenage Borough Council, North Hertfordshire College, Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, and the University of Hertfordshire. Mission 44 is partnering with the programme to address actual and perceived barriers preventing young people from following careers in STEM. Together we will create pathways to provide opportunities for young people in Stevenage.

The Traveller Movement is a national civil society organisation that advocates for and works with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) people to tackle discrimination and promote equality. We’re working together to promote a fairer process for school exclusions and to provide greater advocacy support for Gypsy Roma and Traveller students.

Uneafro Brasil is the primary education programme of Peregum Black Reference Institute, a non-profit founded by education activists in Brazil to advance improvements for Black and underserved communities within education, health, climate and public policy. Mission 44 will support to expand their anti-racist education programme, which has so far served over 15,000 young people to progress to higher education and better job opportunities.

upReach is an award-winning social mobility charity that supports 3,000+ students from lower socio-economic backgrounds to access and sustain top graduate jobs each year. Mission 44 is partnering with upReach to support their beneficiaries to discover career opportunities in Motorsport and secure top STEM employment within the Motorsport sector and beyond.
