UBS announces a four year partnership with Sir Lewis Hamilton’s foundation, Mission 44, as part of their wider social impact work to boost diversity, equity and inclusion. The investment will support Mission 44’s ambitious plans to create a more inclusive education system, increase diversity in STEM and motorsport, and scale their impact both in the UK and internationally.

UBS partners with Mission 44 to scale impact

The partnership includes a contribution of over £1 million to directly support Mission 44’s Inclusive Education Programme, dedicated to disrupting the status quo and creating systemic change. Funding will be targeted towards grass-roots organisations with expertise in inclusive education that are predominantly led by people with lived experience of disadvantage and discrimination, including people of colour. Through this work more young people from underserved communities will access a diverse curriculum, receive social and emotional support in school, and be taught by a diverse range of teachers.

Through the Ignite Fund, Mission 44 is working to accelerate progress towards more diverse STEM and motorsport sectors. The partnership with UBS UK will expand on this work, including increased support to inspire underrepresented groups into STEM careers from an early age.

The nature of UBS’s partnership with Mission 44 is also different – not simply providing grant funding, but enabling UBS clients to donate to Mission 44 through the UBS Optimus Foundation, providing support through employee volunteering, leveraging UBS’s networks and resources, and seeking to learn and develop in partnership with the foundation.

“At Mission 44, we are committed to transforming the lives of young people from underserved communities. That’s why we’re investing in great organisations, leaders and ideas who can disrupt the status quo and support all young people to thrive in education, at work, and in society.

We are absolutely delighted that UBS is supporting our work as a Founding Corporate Supporter to scale our reach and impact, reimagining the future for young people both in the UK and around the world.”
